Leaving for New Home

Our puppies are ready for their new home around 8-weeks of age. Some breeders let their puppies leave at 6-weeks and some right after they're weened at 4-weeks. We think that's to young. By 7 to 8 weeks of age, we have the puppies eating all dry food and on the way to being potty trained.

We establish three areas for the puppies...sleeping, eating, and potty areas. This helps them to learn that certain areas are for a purpose.

By 8-weeks of age, puppies are sleeping through most, if not all, of the night. We try to make the transition as-easy-as possible for the puppy and their new family.

We schedule their veterinarian appointment between 7 and 8-weeks of age. They receive a full exam and age appropriate vaccinations. They're ready for their new home after the exam.

Many of our puppies are adopted by families who have adopted from us in the past. Some families have as-many-as four puppies adopted from us over the years.  I think that speaks volumes for how much care and time we spend to make sure our puppies are healthy, happy and loved.
